Day 21/22 - Basketball Again and Swimming

Basketball yesterday for sport. Last time it was more fun cos we got to play two games at teh end. This time it was just practicing shooting and placements. BOOORING!! Plus a ball hit my chin. It hurt but I lived through it. I was luckier than Eva (not sure how to spell it in French..), a classmate. She twisted her ankle or something of the sort. She was limping for the rest of the day. :( Sucks for her.. Today she walked fine, though.

They play a lot of cards here during breaks. Seriously, half the class is always palying at least two card games (meaning two seperate games). Usually President or Tarot. Or ADHD (not the official name, but that's what I call it..). ADHD is this game where you have two players and you try to get rid of your cards by ... ah forget it! Too complicated to explain by writing. Besides I'm hungry! But they're all fun games (I usually watch). And really easy, except for Tarot. Which is annoyingly complicated and I still don't fully understand it. Ah well.. One day..!

Yesterday we had a chemistry pop quiz. I failed cos I didn't know what I was supposed to do! It was retarded. Oh well. We also had a maths quiz which I do believe I failed also. I don't do maths!! I found out about it the day before and had no time to study! S**t happens, right?

Today was another school day. BUT IT(de?) permanence" (something along those lines) and you have to stay there until your skip is over. I hate that you can't go off and do whatever in the halls or on the school grounds. There is no freedome here! Plus you're supposed to do homework or something or other and you're supposed to supt up and get on with work. Some teachers are more strict than others (the teachers come and go, none stay for very long, just long enough to tell us to shut up, really).

Today I went swimming for the first time here! It was AWSOME!! The water was a little cold (22'C), but it didn't feel cold for long. I swam for half an hour and went to grab a bite to eat, then went back to swim for a bit more. I think I might start swimming more. I love it!

I might start adding randomness to the end of each enty.. Hmm..

I LOVE BLACKCURRANT SORBET!! <3

Day 19/20 - Step and Sore Muscles

I think imma start writing every other day.. It takes a lot of time to write these! But then again.. I dunno. I'll write at least every oter day. Promise!

Testerday was a normal school day and nothing interesting happened (none that I recall, anyway). at 2045 I had the first class of Step. It was exhausting! An hour of jumping up and down, sweating and red faced! It was crazy tiring, but I enjoyed it. I don't think I was the youngest there! There were these other two girls, maby my age, who came, too. I'm almost always the youngest in a lot of my hobbies. Belly dancing in Finland, Stretching and Pilates here.. Not that I mind.

Émilie came with me. She was exhausted, even more than I was. She stopped to catch her breath a few times, but then again she hasn't done sports for a year.. It makes sense I guess.

Today we had three classes. Civics (LOVE), Bio (HATE) and History-Geo (HATE EVEN MORE THAN BIO). I couldn't stay for lunch because I forgot my wallet at home, so I came here to eat while Marie ate at school. I had to ride the busses without paying because I had no money and no tickets with me. On the way back Marie gave me her card and she insisted on walking home, so I took it and used it. She got home 30 minutes after me, I'm guessing. I'd just finished eating (I was picking all the mushrooms from the food.. I HATE mushrooms, but now they know.. It took a long time, I tell you, there were a lot!). I had fried red lentils and onion. It was yummy.

Today we went to the doctor's to get a certificate of health or something because they're really serious about getting one from everyone. It was a quick check up. I thought it was hilarious when they talked about me when I was right there and could've answered myself.. I understood almost everything that was going on. I had to do 20 squats. I thought it would be torture because the backs of my thinghs are sore form 'Monday (running) and yesterday (step), but it turns out squatting does nothing to the backs of your thighs.. At the end I got a certificate saying it's ok for me to do sports.. Bizarre, huh?

Today was Pilates. Émilie came today, but not last week bacause she was sick (I think). Today's class was solightly harder (not by much) than last week's. A few more exercises to do. Nothing major.

Tomorrow I have sports. I think we have basketball again. I want to do something else! I'd love to do tennis, for example.

Lots of love and kisses!

Day 18 - Running and Stretching

Literally. Thats what we had for sports today. Well our group did. Stretching I love, running not so much. We had to run like a million kilometers today and I was knackered by teh end of it. It felt good, though! I feel slimmer already.

Add Stretching class to that and I'm on my way to becoming a skinny bitch. Today Émilie came with me to stretching and I believe, if I'm not mistaken, and I'm not(!), she liked it. Today was more difficult than last week, but I prefere it this way. We had a warm up, some muscle stretching/training exercises and relaxation at the end. I felt really loose and relaxed after, on a natural high. Very addicting.

Tomorrow I agreed to go to a "Refno/Step, Stretching" calss with Émilie, and on Wednesday we have Pilates together. She's coming this time. Looking forward to those.

Tomorrow we start school at 1030 because the teacher is absent and I don't take Spanish. YAY! Today wasn't as bad as I thought it might've been, as it was shortened an hour and we end at "normal" time on Mondays now, at 1730 (still late in my oppinion!). But on the other hand all my other days are shorter.. Like Wednesdays are a half day and the latest I end on other days is 1630, so I'm not too bothered.

Posting the first batch of pressies tomorrow, I think (you know who you are!), if I find the post box.. They should arrive in say three or four days max.

I tried watching the MTV VMAs, but only managed to watch the first 30 minutes until the player crashed (screw ustream!). I saw it up to the part where Kanye West got on stage while Taylor Swift was accepting her award for Best Music Video to diss her and say Beyoncé should have won the category. It didn't bother her, why should it bother him?! I thought that was plain rude. The man is a *insert a load of bad language here*! Seriously.

Early night tonight because I'm about to fall asleep writing this.. Night y'all! <3

Day 16/17 - The Wedding

I got home at three a.m. this morning, so it made no sense to write anyting at that time.. So here goes.

We arrived at the church at 20 to four. The wedding was to commence at four p.m. We had to do a lot of standing around (20 minutes worth) before the ceremony began. In those 20 minutes I was introduced to a whole lot of people, most of whom I don't remember! I met Pierre, the groom, striking in his tux with his pink tie and blue eyes complementing each other. He was all smiles when he greeted me. He seemed like the happiest man on Earth at that moment. I doubt he stopped smiling for the whole night. He had a slight redness to his cheeks, form all the excitement I presume, and he looked well fit for a twenty-thirty something!

Pierre's English was near perfect when he spoke. Turns out he lived in England before moving to Amsterdam. He also spoke French (naturally) and Swedish.

We entered the beautifully decorated church. There were flowers everywhere, but not too many to feel like it was suffocating you.

As the bride, Sophie, entered, everyone turned around to see a nearly-in-tears girl blush slightly. Her dress was strapless, just long enough for her to have to pull the dress up slightly when she walked. Her dress had a white base colour with some more natural coloured vertical stripes. It looked stunning. She looked stunning. She had a veil that was pulled back, her hair up in a bun-like style pinned into place with pins and white flower clips.

WE stood up and sat down a lot. I didn't remember weddings were so much exercise!

After the ceremony (there was some crying!) we headed to a near by parc for some snacksand chit chat. It was besutiful with the coctail/snack tables and three small tables. Everyone was chatting and mingling. They seemed to have enjoyed themselves. I enjoyed people watching. Everyone was ecstatic and looked fantastic.

After about an hour Daniéle suggested we go home for a while before dinner. I understood that that was all the food we'd get at the wedding but, oh, was I wrong! We were at home for an hour or so. Daniéle came into my room and asked if I was ready toleave. I was baffled. Where were we going. I played along and changed into a pair of trousers and my newly bought boots. I bought them yesterday, actually, before the wedding.

We arrived at the poshest Hotel-Restaurant, so I was informed, in St.-Germain-en-Laye at eight or so. We walked in to a huge room with bright lights and beautifully decorated tables. Almost everyone was there already, waiting for the happy couple. They arrived soon after to the sound of clapping and cheering. Everyone was waving their napkins around and cheering for ages. I was so foreign to me, but I got a déja-vu form watching it. Insane I tell you!

The eating took palce for about three-four hours. We ast at our assigned tables and chatted and watched some videos about the couple. I even understood things. There were speaches in between the courses and a long wait (almost an hour) between each course. I was full after the appetizer and could barely eat any of the main course! The portions were huge but most people finished the whole palteful of food! It was insane! There was also cheese , bien sûr, which I refused for the fear of vomiting on the spot. Before cake there was some dancing and a few dance numbers performed by the brides maids and best men. They were... interesting. Very entertaining.

After the cakes (there were two varieties, chocolate and marzipan) there was more dancing. Daniéle and Marie left at around one, an hour into the dancing, but Camille and I stayed. My feet were aching but the end of the night. As we left, at about 15 to three, I was having trouble walking in my boots. I was dying, but I had a great time and I soon forgot about the pain as we arrived at the car.

When we got home, taking our shoes off was like being in heaven! With my feet flat on the ground, finally, I stumbled upstairs for bed.

Today I woke up at 1130, had brakfast and spent another lazy day doing very little. I enjoyed it VERY much after the night of dancing.

Tonight are the VMAs, and I'm planning to get up to watch them at two a.m., so I vetter get some zzz's before they start!

Nighty night! xoxo
