Day 15/16 - Sorry!!

I was supposed to write this yeasterday but I fell asleep!!!!! Sorry! So another early night last night...

Yesterday we had a normal school day, but the whole class pretty much got pissed when we found out we're getting a new schedule. On Mondas we start (like every other day) at 0830 and end at 1825, which is over ten hours of classes in one day! It CANNOT be legal! Besides I have stretching before and I'd like to make it there on time! It's ridiculus.

Last night I met Christelle, the eldest daughter of Daniéle. Christelle was born deaf, but now has a hearing aid. The hing is, I have a hard time understanding French prople talk anyway, but I have an even harder time understanding Christelle talk because she cannot pronounce the words like a "normal" preson would. I understand some things, but others I just can't make sense of. I bet she's really nice but it's hard when I don't speak the language and I'm trying to understand someone with a speach impediment.

So on a happier note today is the wedding! I'm looking forward to it and I should start getting ready..I gotta go paint my nails and start on my makeup!

Toodles! xoxo

Day 14 - P.E.

We had basketball for sports today. I loved it. I never realised how much I miss playing! I mean the last time I played properly was like six-seven years ago, but I really miss it! Everyone kept blocking me so it was hard to get the ball, but I still got it quite a few times. I was pretty good, if I do say so myself.

After sport we had lunch. We had to wait for 20 minutes to get to the counter. About half way I started feeling really sick. I felt like I was going to faint and I got all sweaty and I thoughtlike I was going to vomit any second. I did gag a few times :S I felt fine as soon as I got some food into me stomach. I think I just needed a little fuel to keep going. I feel completely fine now.

The day after tomorrow I'm attending the wedding of a brother of a friend of Marie's. His fiancée is Swedish and I "have to" speak Swedish with her. We'll see how that works out.. I doubt I remember much!

Gonna have an early night (it's not even ten yet!!) for a change. Bonne nuit! xoxo

Day 13 - Teachers and Pilates

We got introduced to two new teachers today. The Civics teacher and the History-Geo teacher. I'm loving Mr. Hot-For-An-Older-Guy, who we have for civics. He's a really good teacher because he has a sense of humour, unlike Miss Uptight, who we have for History-Geo.

Mr. H.F.A.O.G. had even me understanding mocy of what he said. We only have him for one class a week *sad*, so I'm gonna try my best in his classes. The only thing about him that I'm not in to is the rings on his left ring finger. Mr. H.F.A.O.G. was smiling the whole class and I think he made everyone feel relaxed. The subject is also interesting, so the class didn't mind listening to his explinations. He interacted with the students really well and had them ask/answer questions. I was sad at the end of the class when we headed off to Biology.

Biology was a bunch of writing, which I only did a part of because the teacher was reading some things off a book and I don't do French writing yet.. I'll copy the notes off Marie this weekend, I think. *Note to self : coupy notes off Marie!* I understood snippets of what he was on about.

The last lesson of the day (before lunch!) was History-Geo. The teacher came in, annoyed or angry and continued so for the whole lesson. I really am not into history in any case, or geo for that matter, but she made me dislike it even more! If that's possible. We have her twice a week.. *insert sad face*

Today was my first pilates class. It was pretty easy, apart from a few things and the language. The reacher did speak really good English, but she (naturally) taught in French. I got most of it as I'm already familiar with some of the things she taught us today. I loved it, though, and I'm going to keep up with it, just like the stretching class.

Before pilates we went shopping. I got six pairs of earrings (for under 10€!) and three pairs of trousers for the price of two; I also got a (violet) shirt and a few Ts. I'm happy with my purchases. I also got a few school things.

Day 12 - Ouch

My muscles are sore from the running and stretching from yesterday as I run to catch the bus. Every step causes pain and I'm hating every second of it. I doubt we'll make the bus, but am proven wrong as we close in on the awaiting bus. We're out of breath and sweating slightly. I truly detest running.

We ahd English in the morning and the teacher told me to go to the library to get a French book to read instead. I did that, but I also decided to do the English exercises. We ahd to read an article about a Pakistani girl from Kenya who moved to England and answer (overly simple) questions about the test. I was among the first to finish lathough I missed about half the lesson. I am now having French lessons during English. I don't mind as we have NO French..!

After lunch I decided to get to know my classmates a little better so I went over to Olivier, Antoine and Antoine to watch them play cards. Tarots to be precise. It's a difficult game to understand and get the hang of. The simplified version would be you try to beat the others by having the highest card on the table. Then you count points at the end. I was confused so Olivier explained what he was doing every now and then. It helped a lot. I guessed half the stuff he was trying to say as he was struggling slightly with the English vocabulary. I really appreciated him trying.

During the first class of biology we went outside to catch insects. It was boulung and I couldn't understand much of what the teacher said. He was really laid back today, and I hope he continues to be. I though it was funny that he was wearing all green. I bet even his hair band was green. :D

After biology we had Physics-Chem. Now I'm not a big fan (understatement of the month) of chemistry, but I was able to keep up most of the time. Blondine explained a few things for me if I wasn't sure.

We didn't have the last class of the day because there was a teacher missing, so we got to go home "early", at 16:40, instead of 17:30! The hours are insane here! I'm glad I only have a half a day tomorrow. Home after lunch, then to pilates at 18:00. Looking forward to it.

Day 11 - English Lessons and Stetching

Today we had running for sports (eugh!). I detested the whole experience, and that's the reason I'm dropping out of optional sports.. They do a lot of running there, apparently. We also have a swimming pool in the school. We have swimming once a week. I have no swimsuit, but Daniéle found me one. A basic navy swimsuit.. Trés boring and plain. I'm going shopping for a new one on Wednesday. I hope I find one..! It has to be a one piece, but I prefere tankinis and hipsters.. I hope I find one that looks nice.

The first lesson of English was today. The teacher is a black African woman. She studied in the States and came back to France to teach. She as a little bit of an accent and made a few mistakes while speaking to me, but she seems nice and understanding. She's trying to get teh calss to speak more than write, which I thin is very good. They don't want  to speak 'cos they're afraid to get something wrong and I think they panic when they have to speak English. The class was a piece of cake for me and I quite enjoyed it. We palyed a vedrsion of tic-tac-toe where you write a sentence with the word in the box. Hard to explain without a diagram, but easy to play. And fun. Our team won because I was there to check the spelling, etc. :D I let the rest of my team make up the sentences and then corrected them if need be.

John introduced me to more people today. Remember about three of them..! Before class everyone goes to the classrooms to play cards and chat, so we went to another class to meet new people. It was fun, but kind of awkward.

Today was the first stretching class for me. I arrived there at eight, but the previous class hadn't finished yet so I had to wait a while. Not too long. I got to chatting to Vanessa, a 31 year old children's toy buyer/seller who spoke English very well. We got to chatting and after agreeing with Daniéle, Vanessa took me almost all the way home in her car. It's not far by car, but walking there takes about 20 mins, all up hill.

The calss isn't what it says in the name. It's not just stretching, it's sleeping, too! I loved it! We had a lot of stretching, but for about five, ten minutes we lay on the floor relaxing. I almost fell asleep at one point! I was so relaxed!

The day after tomorrow I have pilated. I'm really looking forward to it!

I decided I will only write in the blog when something interesting happens, so it doesn't become boring. Or then write something/copy somthing from somewhere.

Day 10 - My Lazy Days Are Spent On The Computer

Another lazy day for me. Woke up earlier than yeasterday, but didn't do as much. Very laid back day. The only thing we did today, really, was to go to the sports shop to find some wellies for me (came home with a T instead.. :D) and some sweats and trainers for Marie (she got two Ts and trainers).

The rest of my day, truthfully speaking, was spent greatly on the computer. Marie's on the other hand was spent in front of the telly, watching re-runs of Friends and Scrubs. I would have joined her, but it was all in French and it's difficult to get the gist of the jokes when half of it passes you by without you even realising. So I opted for the next best thing, my beloved laptop (<3).

We had samosas for dinner, which were yummy. Then we watched some of Mission Impossible III. A pleasant evening all in all.

Tomorrow is the third school day so far and we haved sports first thing in the morning (it's compulsary for all three years of College/High School/Lycée/whatever), which I find atrocious. I also have the optional sports on friday. Thursdays also have a slot for obligatory sports right before lunch. I also haved stretching on Mondays and Pilates on Wednesdays, so all in all I have about six hours of exercise a week. Wowo do I feel healthy! Gotta go eat a chocolate bar now. ;)

Toodles!
